What is Polyisocyanurate?

Polyisocyanurate Foam, abbreviated as PIR. It can also be called polyisocyanate foam and is currently a mainstream organic polymer insulation material. A foam polymer is produced by thoroughly mixing, reacting and foaming with Isocyanate and Polyol as the main raw materials, along with catalysts, fire retardants and environmentally friendly foaming agents under a special formula and strict process conditions.


PIR is an ideal organic low-temperature insulation material, featuring excellent fire resistance, good thermal conductivity, strong water resistance, good anti-aging property, light weight, shock absorption and strong adaptability. It is an excellent choice for insulation materials in deep cryogenic and general cryogenic temperature environments, and is widely used in LNG natural gas, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, ethylene, fertilizers, cold storage and construction for cold insulation and heat preservation.

It has the following advantages:
1、It features excellent thermal insulation performance and a low thermal conductivity. Under the same cold loss conditions, the total thickness of PIR pipe insulation material is smaller, directly reducing the amount of auxiliary materials used and lowering the space occupied by the pipes

2、The fire resistance performance complies with GB8624 flame-retardant B1 grade and the American ASTM E84 standard

3、It features excellent performance such as strong compressive resistance, good dimensional stability and long service life when used in cryogenic environments, significantly extending the safe production cycle

4、Cutting and forming can meet the design requirements of various thicknesses of composite multi-layer mechanisms, ensuring construction quality.

5、The operating temperature range of PIR material can reach -196℃ to +120℃, and it is suitable for a wide range of environments.
